ROCHESTER, NY: Re: The Discussion and Reading of Reptile House / how / why we write / create / live / love / suffer / act like wierdos when at first we seem so normal. All this in the room to the left as you enter the Gates Public Library. Ate one banana before for nerves while Mel smoked a secret cigarette. Good crowd. These people had DONE THEIR HOMEWORK, as in had read the reading in advance. Had questions ready. Almost an ambush except that I WROTE "Cold Snap" so if there were any answers,  Read More

TOUR BLOG POST #2: REPTILE HOUSE GOES TO BOSTON

Yes I did it!

Read right underneath the South Station Destinations Board so it looked like LOTS of people were listening.

Had to yell but it was good to yell!

Some people just needed a chair.

Some people asked QUESTIONS.

I ate 2 bananas one half hour before I started since cousin Rob said bananas are natural beta blockers.

Waved at Suzanne Lipsky and Jennifer Donahue. SO HAPPY to see friendly faces. Thanks for coming, S and J!

Got written up by WBUR...First South Station Literary Lunch Break

Next Stop: May 4, 2015 Reading at BROOKLINE BOOKSMITH, Brookline, MA, @ 7 pm.

THANK YOU NASHVILLE REVIEW #1

Thank you NASHVILLE REVIEW for

1) being the first literary journal to select and publish one of my stories ("Reptile House") way back in 2011, on the same night the Boston Bruins won the Stanley Cup, and thereby altering my world and world-view completely and forever.

and

2) publishing today, my first interview about Reptile House .

Thanks also to Michael Carolan , great friend and fellow zombie trainer, for having to experience our long rambling writer-talk conversation, which you recorded for this interview, at least once more than I did, and for making some sense of all that. When Highway for Our God comes out, I own you big time.

6 weeks to blast off!

Winter on Earth

In this post by Secret Guest Blogger Kate C, she gives away a clue about her Mysterious Identity -- ie, her General Geographic Location, ie she does not live in New Mexico or Hawaii --and probes Winter: The Pretty and Pleasant, Joyful New Years Hopes and Resolutions, Snowy Sporting Opportunities and Woolens, Yardsticks, Disappearing Cityscapes, Too Much of a Good Thing, and the Slow Decline from Heaven to Hell with the falling of 100 inches of snow in one month (as in the Northeastern coast of America 2015.)

A GREEK ON GREECE: MEDITATIONS ON ELECTIONS

A First 1st for Fish Obit, a worldly and opinionated Opinion post about WORLD EVENTS written by new guest blogger Nick Sampson, movie maker, writer, and Greek, who has something to say about recent elections in his Home Country, as well as Screwing, Angela Merkel, Blame and Disharmony, Unruliness, Nazis, Americans, Self-Deception, Bankruptcy, Starvation, and Ashes.

DERACINATION OF REASON

They say democracy triumphed in Greece the other day. They say democracy triumphed in Europe. The pro-austerity government led by the rightwing New Democracy was ousted in an election that saw the radical left party SYRIZA clinch first place. The once mighty PASOK – the mainstream left party – was reduced to  Read More
